Specialty roll-up doors for fire, emergency, and military vehicles
This highly versatile system may be installed anywhere along the door frame thanks to our adjustable proprietary reader module. The reed switch is an electrical switch operated by an applied magnetic field originally invented by Bell Telephone Laboratories. The reed module is paired with a magnet which can be installed in an instantly recognizable red slat shoe or alternatively within a sealed enclosure in the bottom panel end cap. This NFPA-compliant system has been tested to one million cycles under load and works seamlessly with Luma Bar® Integral light installations. Each module features dual 15 amp circuits capable of powering a wide range of compartment accessories, in addition to the cab warning system. The magnetic door ajar switch is available with a positive or negative ground for either new or retrofit installations.
Over the years many customers have had negative experiences with competing brands of magnetic door ajar switch systems. In response to those requesting a non-magnetic door ajar switch solution AMDOR developed a sealed mechanical switch system. Using a push-button trigger within the striker, this mechanical system detects when the door has been left open and sends an alert to the driver. The primary benefit of this system is that the switch may only be activated by positive engagement of the lift bar. The military-grade switch is hermetically sealed for protection against water and debris. Each system is tested one million times under load, and in conjunction with Luma Bar® Integral lights, for NFPA compliance. This mechanical switch is designed to be utilized as a trigger to the ground with a conventional automotive relay handling power distribution. The mechanical door ajar system is suitable for both new and retrofit applications.
Drip shields are designed to solve three issues. With today's loaded apparatus, improperly stowed equipment can interfere with door operation. When deploying or stowing equipment near the top of compartments it is very easy to damage the roll-up door coil. Finally, the majority of water that ends up in compartments is the result of water running/dripping off of the exterior of the door when it coils up inside the compartment.
The AMDOR drip shield attaches to a simple mounting bracket tucked up underneath the roll-up door mounting plates. It is adjustable to provide protection for a variety of coil diameters while maximizing compartment space savings. The drip shield includes spring-loaded locking pins which allow shields to be removed for service, inspection, or periodic cleaning in seconds. Available with or without drainage tubes. Suitable for new or retrofit applications. One price regardless of door size.
AMDOR’s standard finish is a durable long-lasting .0004 architectural grade anodized aluminum finish. We pride ourselves on only using domestic suppliers for all of our extruded profiles. For those designing apparatus for highly abusive applications, we also offer an upgraded brushed anodized finish. The brush lines will reduce the appearance of scratches caused by incidental contact with the door curtain’s exterior surface. A brushed finish is available on the door curtain slats only.
Our nylon pull-strap is attached to the bottom panel of your roll-up door to assist operators with the operation of taller doors. Made of strong, durable nylon, this pull-strap can withstand demanding daily use and represents AMDOR's most cost-effective pull strap upgrade. This product is available as an OEM or retrofit option.

For many of our customers, it is unfortunate that security is becoming an ever-increasing concern. The AMLOK power locking system allows you to secure your compartment and its valuable contents with the simple push of a button. This innovative system includes a mechanical override in the event of a power failure. We recommend one side frame-mounted lock for doors under 36" in width and locks on both side frames for compartment widths equal or greater than 36". This flexible system can be supplied as a complete system or designed to work as a slave with the existing vehicle control system. Popular options include rocker switch activation or optional key fobs.
