CommandLIFT

CommandLIFT is a remotely operated, electric power door-lift system that increases worker safety and reduces worker compensation claims by removing unnecessary lifting and climbing, minimizing the risk to your staff’s health. Activated at the touch of a button, operators no longer have to climb up onto the door frame to lift the door. The smooth, controlled movement of the power door-lift system ensures careful operation, reducing door maintenance costs by minimizing wear on the door and its components. This innovative device ensures that the roll-up doors are closed securely and will stay closed even if the door latch is not engaged, securing cargo from loss, debris, and damage from the elements. CommandLIFT can be set up to pull the bottom panel up and into the header, providing the maximum opening clearance, and deploys in 10 seconds. This results in greater efficiency when loading, as staff can move cargo more easily when not maneuvering around a door.

The CommandLIFT power door-lift system is designed with safety in mind. It will automatically stop and reverse if an object is in the way allowing the obstacle to be safely removed. Potted circuit boards on the converter and receiver box, are enclosed in aluminum, so the system is resistant to shock, vibration, moisture ingress, and corrosive agents while being suitably isolated against accidental misuse. The power-door lift can be prevented from activating when in transit by the use of a slide cover on the transmitter. Luma Bar® LED lights have been integrated into the unit for increased user safety and featuring auto shut off for when the compartment is not in use.

Enhanced fleet efficiency, effective ease of use, reduced maintenance and downtime and increased cargo security make CommandLIFT a powerful addition to your fleet.

C4

The C4 is WHITING Canada’s newest model offering all of the latest technology from our European partners.  The heart of the C4 model is a full-length double-wall aluminum extrusion. This panel is durable and 100% recyclable. The box lathe design coupled with a continuous hinge allows us to eliminate the vast majority of hardware fasteners creating a perfectly clean exterior surface for graphics application.  As one would expect the interior hardware is also cutting edge. Standard powder-coated stainless steel anti-lozenge brackets prevent lateral panel shift. The roller holder is also manufactured from corrosion-proof Zytel®. The Zytel® composite roller holder drastically reduces interior noise and rattling from door rollers. The top closure bracket incorporates an innovative design that limits the top panel backbend to maximize interior space. The use of standard 2” tracks, 2” rollers, a 2376 balancer, and standard Whiting exterior hardware mean that you will never be in the position of not being able to find parts or being charged exorbitant prices for proprietary components. Available with a highly durable gloss white powder coat finish. Simply put the C4 is the most advanced roll-up door currently offered by WHITING Canada.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

The header dimension varies depending on the door model and door size. The below chart outlines the minimum effective header height requirements. The term “effective header” is used to differentiate between the distance from the bottom of the header to the ceiling, or the distance from the bottom of the header to the lowest obstruction the door has to clear (roof bows, lights, ceiling liner, etc.).

Minimum effective header requirements can vary depending on overall dimensions and finished weight of the door. Very heavy doors may require the larger diameter 7176 balancer, which necessitates a larger header. Very narrow doors may require the use of a 6976 single spring balancer, which necessitates a minimum of 6 ¾″ header.

Minimum Header Requirements

  • ¾″ Dry Freight, C4, Aluminum Clad, Laminated Premium — 5 3/4″ using 2376 balancer, 6 ½″ using 7176 balancer
  • ¼″ and ½″ Premium Plate — 5 ¾″ using 2376 balancer, 6 ½″ using 7176 balancer
  • HingedTRUSS II™ — 6 1/4″ using 2376 balancer, 7″ using 7176 balancer
  • ColdSAVER™ — 6 ¼″ using 2376 balancer, 7 ½″ using 7176 balancer
  • TempGUARD™ — 6 ¼″
  • Beverage Door — 7 ¼″

Click here for the standard quote form that outlines all of the necessary dimensions required.

It is recommended that there is a minimum of 2″ available for the post on dry freight applications and 2 ½″ for insulated doors; this leaves enough space for the mounting angle and vertical track to be installed and out of the way of potential danger.

WHITING suggests following the recommended maintenance procedures outlined within our Technical Documents page (a printable version is available there). Products such as Easy-Up (Item #7427) will assist in smooth door operation and will help lubricate all the moving parts.

There are a number of potential reasons as to why you may be experiencing issues with your door operation. Be sure to lubricate all moving parts such as rollers. Another possibility is that the balancer tension needs to be adjusted — increase the tension if having issues opening the door, or release some tension if having issues closing the door. Also ensure that the door is sitting square within the opening.

WHITING has a variety of hold-open devices to help maximize the opening clearance. The #1184 and #1184HD are examples that can be ordered with a new door or easily fitted to an existing door. The CommandLIFT not only opens and closes the door with the push of a button, it also pulls the door clear above the header giving you more opening clearance.

Yes, custom paint colours are available but are subject to customer approval. Colour samples will be produced and shipped to the customer for final approval before the doors can be painted.

The C4 and HingedTRUSS II doors are hollow-core aluminum extruded doors with no through-rivets at the hinge locations, as well as the ColdSAVER and TempGUARD insulated doors.

WHITING has a powered option called the CommandLIFT®. Within the Videos section there is a featured video outlining the key features and benefits of this remote-controlled door opening and closing device.

WHITING has a number of additional security features available, including the #6376 Lock Box. Additional information can be found within our options section.

Windows are available for the ¾″ thick doors — Dry Freight, C4, Laminated Premium, HingedTRUSS II, and Aluminum Clad.

There is an instructional video available within our Videos section, as well as printable step-by-step instructions within our Technical Documents section.

There is a serial number tag located on the interior face of the door’s top panel. With this serial number our team can recall the original engineering drawings for your specific door.

There are complete details about every WHITING door model available in the Models section of our website. If the door contains a plywood core it is part of our Dry Freight series. Doors made of either metal or composite materials are found in the Specialty Door Models area.

To determine which door model you are using, details on each model are available within the Models page. To replace an existing door, we will need to know the door model you currently have, as well as the dimensions shown in the quotation form, and our customer service team will provide a quote. To replace a door panel, we will need the door model and the height and width of the panel being replaced. Parts and components are also available to order, categorized by individual door model.

For your convenience we have uploaded our installation DVD to our website so it can be viewed at home, at work, and on mobile devices. This allows you to have the video readily available while performing the installation. It can be found in our Videos section.

WHITING suggests using Easy-Up (Item #7427) to lubricate the balancer spring as well as the hinge / roller locations. Never grease or lubricate the track — doing so will result in premature wear and/or failure of components.

WHITING uses only North American parts and lumber. Our vertically integrated operation based in Akron, NY includes in-house stamping, tooling, and e-coating departments. WHITING manufactures our own springs in house. Even the wood used to build our DryFREIGHT series doors is produced using lumber grown in sustainable forests from the Pacific Northwest.

Pull straps are available in 12″, 19″, 24″, and 32″ lengths. WHITING also has 19″ and 32″ straps available with white powder-coated or stainless steel buckles. Custom lengths are available upon request; lead time and price are dependent on quantity.
